Dear NERQies,
The Christmas season is a perfect moment to pause, reflect, and read.
We are pleased to share our new publication:
“Research methodology education in Europe: a multi-country, cross-disciplinary survey of current practices and perspectives.”
Our study explores how European universities teach research methodology across disciplines, academic levels, and regions, revealing both common strengths and unexpected aspects in current approaches.
It offers new insights and a call to rethink how we educate future researchers in the science of doing science.
I would like to express my sincere thanks, especially to Michiel de Boer and Ivan Buljan, and to all NERQ colleagues and co-authors involved in this work. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with such a dedicated and inspiring team. Flavio Azevedo, Lucija Batinović, Thomas Rhys Evans, Lucianne Groenink, Nikos Kostomitsopoulos, DVM, PhD, Seán Lacey, Anita Lunić, Ana Marušić, Daniel Pizzolato, Ulf Toelch
We had a fruitfull meeting with our
#NERQ SIG on research methodology education, discussing ideas for future avenues for our SIG.
One idea by Ana Marusic was to see whether we could replicate research projects on (aspects of) research methods education accross European sites. If you have such projects or are interested in replicating projects, please contact us! If you have other ideas for our SIG and/or want to become involved, please also give us a message. Cheers!
Silke and Michiel
